One of the keys to being able to prosper in Gran Turismo 7 and winning races is obviously knowing all the driving features that the game offers and honing our skills.
And sometimes to hone skills in Gran Turismo 7you must not only know how to read each of the sections of the track, but also know some important aspects of driving in races.
Whether or not you have a real-life driver’s license, it’s clear that you’re going to be able to achieve great results in Gran Turismo 7 if you know how to take advantage of the interface and control of the vehicle on the virtual track.
That is why we want to give you a series of driving recommendations in Gran Turismo 7 that will allow you to take better corners, accelerate to the maximum on the straight without losing control and much more.
6 Gran Turismo 7 tips and tricks to become faster and a better driver whether you are a novice or an expert
Go in a straight line and turn as little as possible
Realize that the goal of racing in Gran Turismo 7 is to get the car moving in as straight a line as possible, because the less you have to spin the wheels the better.
While tight corners and short corners require some sharp turns, the line ensures only as little steering wheel turn as possible.
So when you come to a sharp left turn, you shouldn’t be on the left side of the road, but be as far to the right as possible.
You then need to turn to the left corner and exit the curve to the right side of the road.
Brake, turn and accelerate: all the driving techniques
We’ve got the brake indicators that are that bright red line down the length of the track.
The brake indicator tells us how fast we are going to take the next curve. If you don’t slow down, we’ll go off the track against some wall.
At top speed the brake indicator is bright red, and as you slow down that red fades. When that indicator is completely gone, you know you’re going slow enough to turn the corner well.
But you don’t need to slam on the brakes at every turn, since the longer the brake gauge is, the harder it is to stop.
Sometimes the brake indicator is short and covers only a few segments.
You don’t need to slam on the brakes for all those corners, and you can usually get around by letting go of the throttle and lightly pressing on the brakes.
You shouldn’t wait for the brake indicator to completely disappear either, if it’s already disappearing as you approach the bottom you can assume it will be gone by the time you make the turn.
You should also be aware of the so-called turn pins, which are yellow pin-like indicators on the side of the track. They will tell you when to start the turn, where to point the turn and when to hit the throttle to get out of the turn.
As we have said before, you should be as far to the right as possible when turning left and vice versa. You must follow the turning pins to keep the car in as straight a line as possible as you continue to turn the corner.
Learn to know when to hit the gas coming out of a turn, as too soon you’ll crash into the wall, and too late other racers will have a chance to overtake you.
When you step on the accelerator it doesn’t mean you have to put your foot down, instead you should gently press this button as you come out of the corner to pick up speed.
This acceleration should bring the car towards the opposite corner while maintaining speed while on the track.
Basically you shouldn’t slam on the brakes when taking a turn and you don’t have to steer all the way to the left or right when taking a turn.
Instead ease off the throttle when you see a turn coming up, then release the brakes as you enter the braking zone and keep pressing the brake until you see the brake zone fade away.
This way you won’t slow down as much, which will allow you to avoid other racers being able to catch up with you.
Finally, you must gently turn the wheels to get online.
Increasing performance points
Tips aside, on how to accelerate, take corners and not be overtaken, we want to talk about increasing performance points, which are the general level of the car.
The higher the performance points, the better the car, and all this can be raised or lowered through the Tuning shop.
For example, you can increase or decrease performance points on the go, changing tires, but above all in the Tuning shop with a number of modifications.
So you can buy not only tires, but also brakes, filters of all kinds, suspensions and a multitude of new things, and they will also require it in certain specific races.
Raising the driver’s level
It is essential that you increase the driver level in Gran Turismo 7 to unlock more Tuning levels in the store.
The best way to increase the driver level is by completing the licenses.
Rewarding cars shoot up your level faster than other things.
Related to points, the best way to increase them is by reducing the weight.
There are four stages of weight reduction and they can reduce it up to half.
Remember that these changes cannot be undone, so keep an eye on it and keep a balance.
Regarding the suspensions, they will allow you to raise or lower the height of the car, the lower cars take tighter turns and the customizable suspensions give you better balance. The good thing about the sport suspension is that it is height adjustable and works for drivers on a budget.
The tires
As we said, tires increase or decrease performance points. These tires are divided into soft, medium and hard, with soft being the best.
Obviously, the soft ones are better but they wear out very quickly.
Tuning up your vehicle
Before the races you have the option to tune up your car.
Before making any changes, you must create a new configuration sheet, for this go to the top of the configuration screen and press the three dots and edit configuration sheets.
You need to scroll down to “add sheet” and then hit ok and you can even name this sheet or edit the name later.
If you don’t like these settings, you can always delete the sheet and create a new one, knowing that the default one will always be there to load at any time.
