A European class action action against Apple starts in the Netherlands. To launch the initiative is Consumer Competition Claims which aims to follow up, with the launch of a class action, what is happening in the Dutch market where Apple refuses to comply with the requests of the local antitrust that sanctioned the company regarding payments in the app.
New problems for Apple in the Netherlands. In addition to the antitrust, which has been sanctioning the company for several weeks, Apple must now also deal with one class action which aims to obtain compensation from Apple for European users. According to the promoters of the class action, developers are forced to charge users the fees requested by the American company. Consumers, therefore, would pay too much due to these constant commissions (equal to 30%) applied to all transitions made in the app. The action aims to get a compensation of 5 billion euros.
