L’Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, announced last month, it has yet to be formalized. The process for completing the operation will take several months and may face several obstacles. Among these there is one lawsuit brought by an Activision Blizzard shareholder pointing to block the procedure which will lead to the acquisition of the company by Microsoft.
Activision Blizzard shareholder, Kyle Watson, wants to block Microsoft’s acquisition of the company. In the opinion of the shareholder, who filed a lawsuit to block the process, the operation would not have been decided following the “best interest of the campaign” but only to guarantee the members of the Board of Directors important benefits. Activision Blizzard has already denied the allegations saying it is ready to defend itself in court. Updates on the issue will certainly arrive over the next few months.
Meanwhile, Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, for some time at the center of controversy for its behavior and some delicate decisions, it could be liquidated, once the operation is completed, with a maxi severance pay of 15 million dollars. The news has not yet been confirmed. However, the farewell of Kotick seems almost obvious, which would not be part of Microsoft’s plans for the future of the company. We will know more in the future.
