Activision Blizzard: Nintendo also declares measures regarding the scandals

In the wake of the controversies and scandals that are characterizing Activision Blizzard, Nintendo joins the stance of other companies

A few days ago, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan and Xbox, Phil Spencer, talking about Activision Blizzard had used very harsh words and condemnation of the behavior implemented by company managers towards their employees. While Jim Ryan had said he was extremely disappointed and shocked from the toxicity present within the development house, Phil Spencer had also advanced the idea of want to review the partnership that Xbox has for years with ActiBlizz. As calls for a Bobby Kotick layoff continue to grow, Nintendo of America CEO Doug Bowser has also decided to release a statement on the matter.

The statements of Nintendo of America on Activision Blizzard

Jim Ryan and Phil Spencer had expressed their thoughts through internal emails, sent to the members of their studios, and the same was therefore carried out by the president of Nintendo, who wanted to respond to a request to comment on the story surrounding Activision Blizzard, and what kind of intervention the Japanese company intended to implement . Nintendo then added of have nothing else to declare other than the content present in the email.

The email in question was sent on Friday, November 19 and reached every department of Nintendo: Bowser had written that he too was following the constant news of abuse and harassment in Activision Blizzard. These revelations have been withheld disturbing and upsetting by the American president, totally contrary to his and Nintendo’s beliefs and values.

In the email, Bowser also explained how Nintendo is determined to have a open and inclusive working environment, and to expect the same from industry and partner companies. Without going into details, he also added how Nintendo representatives would get in touch with Activision and stay taking measurements. Speaking of ESA, an organization that represents the interests of the gaming industry and which includes both Nintendo and ActiBlizz, Bowser announces that he is working with it to strengthen its position against abuse and harassment in the workplace, and that the highest standards should be imposed by the ESA.

Every company in the industry must create an environment where everyone is respected and treated fairly, and where the facts are clear consequences of not doing so.
