Apple doesn’t slow down, it prepares 90 million iPhone 14s

The smartphone market is slowing down this year. But Apple he is confident that this drop does not apply to the new iPhone: he indeed has ordered 90 million iPhone 14 from its suppliers. The same number seen last year for version 13.

Apple expects to sell 220 million iPhones this year, according to forecasts. A number in line with what we saw last year, when, however, smartphone sales were much higher. This is also due to the fact that, according to sources close to Apple who spoke to Bloomberg, the premium device market works differently. Apple users are still willing to spend on the new iPhones.

Before 2021, Apple was producing roughly 75 million units for the launch of the new models, typically in September. Anticipating a huge demand for the iPhone 13, last year it raised the bar to 90 million. And it wants to keep that ambitious target.

Perhaps this year the Apple hopes to be able to convince users with the news coming on the Pro and Pro Max versions, which promise several changes.
