Apple may offer a second chance to purchase AppleCare +

Apple may begin offering its customers who have faced an expensive repair for an iPhone or Mac a second chance to buy coverage AppleCare+ for the damaged device, with some limitations due to the company’s corporate policy.

Apple: second chance to buy AppleCare +?

In an internal note this week, which came under the radar of the editorial staff of MacRumors, Apple allegedly claimed that customers who have had an iPhone or Mac repaired at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider can now purchase AppleCare+ for your device, provided the device was purchased less than a year ago and is capable of passing physical inspection and diagnostics after repair.

For customers who are unsure whether their iPhone has been repaired by an Apple Authorized Service Provider, iOS 15.2 introduces a new “Spare parts history and assistance”Accessible via Settings> General> About which indicates whether components such as the battery and display are genuine Apple parts. The update is expected to be released as early as next week.

Customers are still required to pay Apple’s full out-of-warranty amount for any repairs completed prior to purchasing the coverage for the device. This policy is expected to take effect at Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Provider locations in all countries and regions where AppleCare + is available.

Expanded AppleCare + eligibility for repaired iPhones and Macs is expected to further increase Apple’s service revenue, which reached a record high of 18.27 billion dollars in the last quarter. This is certainly good news for anyone who has had an unpleasant accident with their device.
