Goodbye headphone jack on iOS and iPadOS devices. This is what leaked from some recent reports, which claim that the Cupertino company will permanently eliminate the jack with the launch of the 10th generation iPad. So let’s go see what it is specifically.
According to renders published by MySmartPrice, the 10th generation iPad will feature a slimmer design than the previous model, with flat edges and a reduced rear camera protrusion. In addition, it appears that Apple is planning to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack from the device, as the renders show no sign of it. A choice that could be linked to the company’s desire to standardize the design of the iPad series. In any case, if that were the case, it would certainly not be such a striking novelty.
As far as we know, in fact, Apple has begun to remove the jack from its devices with l’iPhone 7, in 2017. And indeed the latest iPhone that featured a headphone jack, the first generation iPhone SE, was discontinued in 2018. And the latest iOS device, the seventh generation iPod, is was suspended earlier this year. With the launch of the sixth generation iPad mini last year, finally, the entry-level iPad became the only iPad model left with a jack. But if the images shared by MySmartPrice were to be true, then it is clear that Apple has decided to remove the headphone support on all new iOS and iPadOS devices.
