Presented last June, Stage Manager is designed, for the moment, exclusively for iPad with M1 processor. Apple, however, intends to increase the spread of this feature with the arrival of iPadOS 16.1. As it emerged in these hours, in fact, some iPad Pro models will soon be able to count on Stage Manager. Here are the full details:
Stage Manager improves the multi-tasking capabilities of iPads with the ability to take advantage of up to eight active apps on the screen as well as multi-display support that can be useful on several occasions. Currently, the function is available, due to hardware capacity issues, only on iPads with M1 processor. However, things are about to change.
Applein fact, confirmed the willingness to extend support to Stage Manager. The feature is coming up on the iPad Pro 3rd and 4th generation. These models will receive a reduced version of the multi tasking introduced by Apple and will have the ability to manage up to four applications on the screen.
There will be no support for an external display. In the future, in any case, Apple intends to support more and more the functions of Stage Manager, destined to arrive on several new models of IPad. Further updates will undoubtedly arrive over the next few weeks.
