Assassin’s Creed Infinity: according to a leak, the new game may not be open world

With the revelation of Assassin’s Creed Infinity we learned of Ubisoft’s idea of live service, and now a new leak seems to exclude the open world in the game as well

Already a few months ago Ubisoft had confirmed the production of Assassin’s Creed Infinity after the leaks and rumors unleashed also thanks to an article by Bloomberg, and later the fans asked themselves some doubts about the way in which the open world would work in the famous saga of the assassins. This happened after discovering the turn towards live-service services online that would take the series. The new modus operandi was however motivated by the French company as an intention to evolve the development of the work, thus leading to collaborations between the two main Ubisoft studios that worked on Assassin’s Creed, namely Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec. And now, new news is shaking the gaming community.

The open world leak of the new Assassin’s Creed Infinity

A recent leak posted by a user on Reddit reveals more information about Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the type of structure this new service / game will have and whether it will also be open world. Apparently, in the title they will be content all games, however, on a smaller scale and enclosed in a live service experience. It will be interesting to see then how the larger chapters, such as Valhalla and Odyssey, will be treated. But there is a novelty in particular unveiled in a brand new leak that could change the whole landscape of the game.

Assassin's Creed Infinity: according to a leak, the new game may not be open world

In the words of the user, it is expressed how the game is in a solid enough state to be able to reveal with certainty how it will be constituted: Infinity is inspired by the Helix system of Unity, and for this it will give access to some semi-open world levels Hitman style, with multiple missions for each assassin. Ubisoft also plans to recreate and rework past stories, but it’s too early to say which games will be covered specifically. In the end, a new story it will be added over time, with an extra cost to pay. However, this will not put an end to the development of Assassin’s Creed open world games, which will be released concurrently with the service.

However, all of this information has yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft, and since it is a leak it will be best to take it with due caution.
