Bayonetta 3: Kamiya sul porting per PlayStation e Xbox

The title of the moment is definitely Bayonetta 3 and, in the past few hours, Hideki Kamiya, the director of the game, has commented on the possibility of a port on PlayStation and Xbox platforms

Finally, during the last amazing Nintendo Direct, Bayonetta 3 is back to show itself with nothing less than a fully styled gameplay trailer… Bayonetta. It’s been four long years since its announcement back in 2017, four years in which virtually little or nothing was seen and Kamiya’s statements about the game were anything but reassuring. Well, Bayonetta 3 really exists then and development proceeds, just as the game director had stated some time ago. The hand of PlatinumGames is noticeable and the title looks very promising, especially considering that it will run on a console like Nintendo Switch, which in terms of performance differs a lot from the current “next-gen” machines.

In fact, just like Bayonetta 2, the third chapter will be exclusive to the great N. And, as you know, when it comes to such anticipated titles, it is difficult for the fanbase to be happy with any exclusivity. In this regard, the director of the game, Hideki Kamiya, has also intervened, who in the past few hours has just commented on the possibility of the arrival of the title also on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. On Twitter, in fact, Kamiya explained that Bayonetta 3 is developed by PlatinumGames, but with funds and investments received directly from Nintendo’s pockets.

Kamiya on the port of Bayonetta 3 for PlayStation and Xbox: lapidary as always

This obviously means that the decision for the possible landing on other platforms in addition to those of the big N lies precisely with the company. The same logic that would apply, for example, to Nintendo’s porting of franchises with greater cultural depth, such as Mario or Zelda. It should also be remembered that, without the company’s hard cash, Bayonetta 2 would never have seen the light considering that no publisher wanted to get involved. Kamiya concluded the series of Tweets by stating that if you want to play Bayonetta 3, you’ll want to buy a Nintendo Switch. In short, lapidary as always, but the answer is clear.

The possibility of the arrival of Bayonetta 3 on PlayStation or Xbox is therefore in the exclusive hands of Nintendo, which we know well how it treats its IPs and how “jealous” it is. I really think it will be better to follow Kamiya’s advice. What do you think of it?
