News coming soon for the BeReal App. According to the Financial Times, the platform is considering adding paid functionality. A rather important change if we consider that the application is currently free – which has undoubtedly played a role in the success of the French social network -.
It goes without saying that BeReal is the trendiest App of the moment. We know this well, and we have confirmed it several times, also underlining how much the other platforms are trying to emulate how it works. For its part, however, the French social network is not trying to look like any of its competitors – see TikTok and Instagram – in terms of managing in-app advertising. According to the Financial Times, in fact, BeReal is thinking about new options for monetization with the ability to integrate in-app purchases.
As for the advertisements aimed at targeted user groups, however, the platform seems somewhat disinterested for the moment – if we can say so -. In any case, it is clear that the addition of paid functions could only be the next step in this incredible phase of success, in which BeReal has reached the over 15 million daily active users. But what will these paid options really look like? According to the Financial Times, in-app purchases on BeReal could resemble a premium Discord subscription, where you pay for a monthly fee for bonuses such as digital stickers and the like.
For the moment, however, it is only a matter of guesswork. Indeed, let us say that the project will be really long-term, considering that the App intends to add these functions by the end of 2023. For now, in fact, the company aims to improve the usability of BeRealincluding correcting technical issues resulting from the millions of App users all posting at the same time.
