BMW Group, one millionth electrified vehicle delivered

BMW has reached an important and very prestigious milestone: the Baverese company has in fact announced the delivery of its one millionth electrified vehicle, which also means 100% electric and hybrid models.

The millionth car in question is the BMW iX xDrive40, a 100% electric SUV that develops 326 hp and certifies a range of over 400 kilometers, thanks to a large 71 kWh battery.

After handing over the keys to the millionth electric BMW to its proud owner, Pieter Note, BMW AG board member explained that around 70% of electrified vehicles sold by BMW are hybrids. However, the Bavarian company did not disclose the percentage of 100% electric and hybrid vehicles that fall into the global calculation.

BMW will introduce a series of fully electric models in the coming years. Among the first to arrive there will be electric versions of the BMW 7 Series and BMW X1. The launch of the electric BMW 5 Series is dated 2023.

The electric plans also cover other brands of the group. Therefore, all Mini models will be electric in the early 2030s, while Rolls-Royce will become a fully electric brand by 2030. By 2023, the Group will therefore be able to count on at least one purely electric model in around 90% of its current market segments. Over the next ten years or so, the BMW Group expects to put a total of around ten million fully electric vehicles on the road.
