BMW Motorrad presents the new BMW G 310 GS

With the BMW G 310 GS, BMW Motorrad has been creating a new experience in the segment of displacement below 500 cc since 2016.

It is from 2016 that with the BMW G 310 GS, BMW Motorrad is creating a new experience in the segment of displacement below 500 ccm. Extremely compact, robust and highly versatile in design, it quickly established itself as a true BMW GS – especially for newcomers. Four years after its debut, BMW Motorrad is now presenting the new BMW G 310 GS. Versatile, safer and more dynamic, whether in everyday traffic, during pleasure rides on country roads or off-road on easy terrain.

BMW G 310 GS: EU-5 homologated single-cylinder engine and much more

The heart of the new G 310 GS is still reliable 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves, two overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection. The tilt of the cylinder to the rear and the cylinder head rotated 180 degrees with the intake at the front and the exhaust at the rear remain the design features. This arrangement follows the logic of optimizing the gas dynamics of the engine and results in a particularly compact vehicle architecture. With a power of 25 kW (34 CV) a 9 500 entry / min it’s a maximum torque of 28 Nm at 7 500 rpm, the single-cylinder engine of the new BMW G 310 GS is the ideal partner for dynamic motorcycle pleasure, even in the current EU-5 homologation.

The new BMW G 310 GS engine was equipped with a so-called “electronic throttle grip”(Throttle body actuated by a servomotor) and now offers an even more sensitive throttle response. Automatically increasing the rotational speed to idle at start-up also prevents a possible sudden engine stop. The anti-hopping and self-reinforcing clutch is also new. It reduces engine drag torque and provides a significant increase in driving safety – particularly during braking maneuvers that involve sequential downshifting of multiple gears. It also allows for significantly reduced actuation forces at the clutch lever.
