Briganti: the new Italian series by Netflix, written by GRAMS *, announces the start of filming
The new Italian series Briganti is of a crime western genre, consisting of six episodes and produced by Fabula Pictures in association with Los Hermanos srl
Filming will take place in Puglia, between Lecce, Melpignano, Altamura and Nardò thanks also to the contribution of the Apulia Film Commission, the Puglia Region and the Apulia Film Commission Foundation. Briganti will be available in 2023 on Netflix, in all countries where the service is active.
Set in mid-nineteenth-century Southern Italy, Briganti is a modern, epic and action-packed tale about the phenomenon of banditry. Freely inspired by people, men and women, who really existed, who became a symbol of the peasant revolution in post-unification Italy, the series is a choral tale of a story of struggle for the freedom of the least.
The screenplay is signed by GRAMS*the collective made up of five young authors Antonio Le Fosse, also director of the series, Re Salvador, Eleonora Trucchi, Marco Raspanti e Giacomo Mazzariol. Directing Steve Saint Leger (Vikings, Vikings: Valhalla, Barbarians), lo stesso Antonio Le Fosse (Baby), e Nicola Sorcinelli (Love).
Among the main protagonists Michela De Rossi in the role of Filomena, Ivana Lotito in the role of Ciccilla e Matilda Lutz in the role of Michelina De Cesare; Marlon Joubert is Giuseppe Schiavone e Orlando Five plays Pietro Monaco. Also in the cast: Gianmarco Vettori (Marchetta), Federico Ielapi (Jurillo), Giulio Beranek (Francesco Guerra) and Adriano Chiaramida (Anthony Monaco).
So we just have to wait until 2023 to be able to witness this wonderful new TV series produced by the Netflix giant. Obviously, as always, we stay here to provide you with all the necessary updates and we assure you that we will not lose sight of this project, which already proves very interesting!
