At the last EICMA in Milan, Brixton announced a third version of its Crossfire 500 where the addition of the initials XC it indicated the new arrival’s “scrambler” vocation. But six months ago, the brand of the KSR group had presented a draft of his motorcycle with a prototype dressed in 3D printed parts. But now the bike has been officially unveiled with the final version arriving at dealerships at the same time.
From a technical point of view, no surprises. The liquid-cooled in-line twin engine remains from 486 cm3 with 48 horsepower and 43 Nm of torque. Same thing for the chassis, the suspensions (with revised calibrations) and the J.Juan brakes.
The 500 XC stands out for its new NZ tubeless spoke rims fitted with Pirelli Scorpion tires Rally STR. The 19-inch front wheel stands out reflecting the desire to improve off-road capabilities. This also leads to an increase in the travel of the KYB suspension, lwith inverted fork which now works on 150 mm and the central shock absorber on 130 mm.
The handlebar is now raised to facilitate standing riding. The rubber coating improves the grip of the knees on the sides of the tank. The model is also equipped with a stainless steel engine skid plate and black skid bars.
Finally, the style itself evolves to reflect this more off-road orientation. We find in fact a front fender in a high position, a small sporty windshield and an LED headlight with a guard around the radiator.
Available in one livery Desert Goldla Brixton Crossfire 500 XC is in sale at 6,999 euros (fc). That is 600 euros more than the standard 500.
