Canon Zoemini S2: the new camera printer • Techprincess

The new Canon Zoemini S2 is a portable printer-camera, based on Zink technology. This technology, whose name derives from Zero Ink, without ink, allows you to create color printers where the paper already includes the color. It’s a’evolution of thermal printing technology that we know thanks to the receipts, which blacken according to the heat. With Zink, printing takes place through a special support that returns the color thanks to a specific temperature.

Zoemini S2 prints 5 × 7,6cm images

The cute little Canon Zoemini S2 is equipped with a 8 megapixel sensor and everything you need to shoot: viewfinder, flash, filler ring light, filter selection. You click and go with the press, in less than a minute.

The print size is 2 × 3 inches, 5 × 7.6cm. Very interesting it is also the option for printing on circular paper. Print times are the same as in the previous version, about 50 seconds; Canon’s specifications regarding resolution indicate 314 × 600 DPI, so more detailed in one of the two dimensions.

Through a small button we can set two additional print styles: vivid colors or black and white.

From the images you can see around the small lens a large curved mirror, used for selfies; the small white frame helps center the frame.

Full management is done through the Canon Mini Print App

The display is missing but it is not serious, through the management App we can see the contents of the 512 Megabyte memory, set filters and print both the images in the camera and those inside our smartphone. The app also allows you to frame and shoot.

Canon Zoemini S2 has a 10 sheets and a print autonomy of 25 sheets per single refill. The internal memory is expandable via microSD. We will find it available on the Canon store from mid-October 2021 in the colors Rose gold, pearl white, dark water green. The retail price is € 179.99.
