CPR Q3 2022 report: a 28% increase in cyberattacks is recorded

Q3 2022: 28% increase in cyberattacks

This last year has been dominated by the conflict between Russia and Ukraineleading to the development of large concerns globally. Just three days after the invasion of Ukraine, on February 27, Check Point Research found an increase in 196% of cyberattacks on the government-military sector of Ukraine. There was also an increase in 4% of attacks by organization in Russia.

However, it is not only war-related computer activities that have registered a strong increase in recent months. In fact, it seems that hackers and attack groups have increased exponentially.

The sectors most at risk

In a report published in August 2022, CPR had found that the education sector was standing suffering more than double weekly attacks compared to other sectors. This trend was subsequently confirmed. The healthcare sector recorded the largest change compared to last year, with 1,426 weekly average attacks. However, it should be noted that in terms of ransomware attacks, the healthcare sector was the most targeted in the third quarter of 2022.
