Dacia Spring Electric Tournament: the “electric” gaming tournament kicks off

What happens when one of the best electric cars meets gaming? Simple: an exciting eSports tournament with an eco-sustainable character is born. All in one name: Dacia Spring Electric Torunament, which aims to show young people all the potential and accessibility of electric vehicles. And what better game than Rocket League to represent the project? The tournament officially started on April 5, and is now in full swing thanks to the ability for players to customize their in-game car with items branded Dacia Spring, the automotive brand’s 100% electric city car.

Over 250 teams vying for the Dacia Spring Electric Torunament

The Tournament pits over 250 teams in competition, with some of the most famous Rocket League players on the planet. But the big news comes today: with the ability to follow the competition’s matches on the official Twitch channel Rocket Baguette. To celebrate this novelty Davia has also created an ad hoc map called Dacia Spring Electric Challenge. This will allow players to train and “warm up”, a sort of training camp to prepare for the tightest matches of the competition.

The map consists of a real virtual world branded Dacia, with the colors of the brand and features created by @Lethamyr, @Gydek and @MrSwaggles, three of the most renowned map creators in the world on Rocket League. It is no coincidence that the new map appears visually much more elaborate than the others, with a higher graphic quality. The result? Almost 4 thousand downloads in less than 24 hours for an estimated total, to date, of about 10 thousand total downloads.

The finalist teams will compete in the grand final on 24 April and compete for a cash prize of € 5,000 per person, as well as the opportunity to try out a Dacia Spring for a month.
