E3 2021: Metroid Dread announced during Nintendo Direct!

During the Nintendo Direct that is taking place on the virtual stage of E3 2021, interesting news on the Metroid series also arrive, and finally we would dare to say, with the announcement of the new 2D chapter called Dread

Nintendo Switch is a beautiful hotbed of Nintendo titles. Just think of Super Mario, Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda or Pokémon to understand how much the big N cares about its brands, and how much it has been able to cultivate them over time. All of them, really, have some spearheads even on the latest console available, the hybrid Nintendo Switch, which boasts a catalog of first party titles (but now also third party) that is truly enviable. All of them, really, all of them except Metroid. Five years ago (now!) Metroid: Samus Returns was released on Nintendo 3DS, which gave us hope for a comeback of the series. After the announcement of Metroid Prime 4, however, our expectations were disappointed and when Nintendo announced that it had restarted development we were a bit resigned. Wrong, apparently.

During the Nintendo Direct that is airing in this E3 2021, a new title in the Metroid series was announced, completely in 2D, thus following the rumors that had occurred over the last few months. The game is called Metroid Dread and was presented with a really exciting trailer during the Nintendo conference. We leave it just below, so you can enjoy it with us!

E3 2021: Metroid is still alive, here is Dread!

The game, as we said, is completely 2D and we could see Samus moving quickly in very detailed and beautiful environments, fighting against deadly robotic enemies and firing shots in every direction. And not only that, we weren’t hoping in the least, but Nintendo also announced the official release date of Metroid Dread. The game will in fact be available from next 10 August and we can’t wait to get our hands on it!

And these are all the news about Metroid coming from Nintendo Direct that is being held on the virtual park of E3 2021. Are you fans of the series of the wonderful Samus? What do you think about it? Write it to us below in the comments, we will continue to keep you updated with all the news on videogame and tech!
