Vinyl NRS Box S3 uses a sophisticated algorithm that is able to attenuate the sound disturbances of the vinyl, without however altering the tonal structure of the sound content. As you can see from the photo below, the device has only one main knob. This allows you to activate two functions: the De-crackling and the VNRS, ovvero Vinyl Noise Reduction System.

Specifically the De-Crackling uses an algorithm to detect crackles and apply a correction curve (which attenuates them and 0 at -8dB). This is a very high value, for the benefit of a better listening experience. However, if you don’t want to use the function, just turn the knob fully to the left to put the algorithm in bypass.

Il VNRS however, it has a decidedly more complex functioning. The feature splits the signal into two frequency bands and then routes it into two expanders that increase the signal-to-noise ratio. In this way it is possible to apply an attenuation of the noise modulations (also in this case up to -8dB).

How do links work?

Vinyl NRS Box S3 connects between the output of the turntable and the amplifier. Once turned on, the device is immediately active, while when it is turned off the inputs are instead galvanically connected to the outputs and there is no processing. Practically when switched off it works as a by-pass, so you won’t have to disconnect it if you don’t intend to use it.
