FAR: Changing Tides, launch date announced

Frontier Foundry, the label referencing Frontier Developments, has announced the launch date of FAR: Changing Tides, the next chapter of FAR universe, developed by the Okomotive team.

The agenda is to be synchronized with March 1, 2022: pre-orders have already been declared “open” on a wide range of gaming platforms, including the Xbox, where the game will arrive on GamePass, practically immediately.

FAR: Changing Tides: setting and plot

Swapping sand dunes for sea waves, FAR: Changing Tides expands to an inhospitable new world created by the developers of Okomotive, in their award-winning debut title, FAR: Lone Sails (which we had already reviewed here). Players will take on the role of Toe, a hero trapped in a submerged landscape with little chance of survival. Finding an abandoned ship, the journey to safety will take players over the horizon in a desperate search for freedom as Toe searches for answers to what happened to their home.

To give due importance to this moment, two new video clips of the lo-fi soundtrack, Soundwaves, have also been created using the game resources.

Lasting two hours, these videos invite listeners – in a “meditative way – to lose themselves in the world created by Okomotive, from the sweet sound of the waves to the rhythmic” thud “of the powerful engine that powers a ramshackle vehicle in a world made of water.
