Ferrari and Lamborghini leave the Russian market

Ferrari and Lamborghini join the many car manufacturers who have decided to interrupt their commercial relations with Russia due to the ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said the company “stands by” the affected Ukrainians, adding: “Although we hope for a quick return to dialogue and a peaceful solution, we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of all those affected. . Our thoughts and our support go to them ”.

Ferrari also donated 1 million euros to support Ukrainian refugees arriving in northern Emilia-Romagna, home of the prancing horse, with funds earmarked for humanitarian projects supervised by the Red Cross and UNHCR.

Lamborghini expressed his deep sadness at the conflict in Ukraine and said he is viewing the situation “with grave concern” with “hope for a quick end to hostilities and a return to diplomacy”. Lamborghini made his announcement on Twitter, saying that he is preparing a donation (the figure is not indicated) to UN Refugee Aid, the United Nations Refugee Agency, active in Ukraine since 2014. As mentioned, the Italian manufacturer also stated that it will suspend its commercial operations with Russia. Lamborghini is part of the VW group that owns Porsche, both of which have donated 1 million euros to UN Refugee Aid.

Ferrari and Lamborghini join the other brands that have taken a stand against Russia

Donations from Ferrari and Lamborghini are just two of the many car manufacturers trying to help those affected by the war. Nissan and Stellantis also donated 1 million euros to help fleeing Ukrainians from the conflict. However, almost all car manufacturers have gone even further, suspending operations and sales in Russia by sharing the sanctions put in place by the international community against the Putin government.

Toyota said it needs to close its St Petersburg factory where the Camry and RAV4 are assembled for the Russian market. Mazda, Honda and General Motors have aligned themselves with the rest of the big brands by stopping exports to Russia.
