Final Fantasy XVI: Takai and Yoshida reveal the duration of the game!

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Takai and Yoshida revealed the duration of Final Fantasy XVI, both in terms of the main campaign and the amount of content that the completionists will face: let’s find out all the details together

Although nothing has been known about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Kingdom Hearts IV for a long time now, the release date of another highly anticipated Square Enix product is fast approaching. After the great disappointment that was, for fans, Final Fantasy XV, the company tries again this time by entrusting the project to Hiroshi Takai (Director) and Naoki Yoshida (Producer) to give life to a Final Fantasy XVI which must at the very least resurrect the series. And given what has been shown so far, perhaps, we really are.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Takai and Yoshida divulged the game’s estimated length. In particular, to complete the main campaign of Final Fantasy XVI, according to the two, it would take approximately 35 hours in total. If we add this information to the one revealed some time ago that there are about 11 hours of movies in the game, we will have to play, pad in hand, about 24 hours. Which is exactly in the average productions of the genre, to be honest.

Final Fantasy XVI: the duration of the game revealed, how much life will it steal?

For completionists, on the other hand, the matter becomes more complicated, because it just seems that to get 100% of Final Fantasy XVI you will have to spend at least 70-80 hours of your life. Furthermore, Yoshida himself said that a particularly difficult mode has been added to the New Game +, called Final Fantasy Mode, which allows you to carry all your statistics with you and which inexorably increases the playable hours in the title.

Unlike the prequel, Final Fantasy XVI will not be an open-world experience (approximately), but neither will it be linear and we will therefore be able to put our hands on a title characterized by a considerable duration in any case, as happened, for example, with the two new Gods of War. We remind you that Final Fantasy XVI will be available on PlayStation 5 starting next June 22nd.
