Mozilla has released the latest update for its browser. There version 102, is now available to all users with improvements to the download user interface, better support for subtitles in Picture-in-Picture, various fixes and security improvements.

Firefox 102: what’s new

New Features:

• Are you tired of too many windows crowding the screen? It is now possible to disable the automatic opening of the download panel every time a new download is started.
• Firefox now smooths out query parameter tracking when browsing sites in strict ETP mode.
• Subtitles and captions for Picture-in-Picture (PiP) are now available on HBO Max, Funimation, Dailymotion, Tubi, Disney + Hotstar and SonyLIV. This allows you to view videos in a small window pinned to the corner of the screen while browsing apps or browsing content on the main screen.

• When using a screen reader on Windows, pressing enter to activate an item no longer fails or clicks on the wrong item and / or another application window. For people who are blind or with very limited vision, this technology reads aloud what appears on the screen and users can adapt it to their needs (now, on our platform, without errors).

• Security is improved by moving audio decoding to a separate process with more rigorous sandboxing, thus improving process isolation.

Firefox 102 is also available in the channel Extended Support Releasewhere it replaces Firefox 91. It includes all the changes, improvements and fixes that Mozilla implemented after the release of Firefox 91 in the channel Stable.
