Samsung is preparing to present the new generation of foldable smartphones. The new Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4, in fact, will debut next August. In the meantime, however, the company celebrates the sales results of its range which is dragging the entire foldable display sector. Here are the data that certify the excellent results of the sector and the role of Samsung in growth.
According to what was revealed by TM RohSamsung’s number one, today gSmartphones with folding displays are a reference in the market. In the course of 2021, according to what Roh revealed, they were shipped about 10 million units of devices with this type of display. The sector recorded a growth of + 300% compared to 2020. Future growth will be even greater. For the 2025in fact, the sector should hit share 27 million di units sold per year according to IDC.
Samsung is driving this growth. According to various analysts, in fact, Samsung’s range of foldable smartphones has a very high market share. For DSCC, for example, the Korean house has 87% of market share. Behind Samsung, for units sold, there is Huawei which stops at less than 10% of market share, confirming the leading role of the Korean company.
