Ford E-Transit All-Electric receives Gold Award from Euro NCAP

The Gold Award a Ford E-Transit All-Electric: a very important recognition for the commercial vehicle, arrived thanks to the complete range of driver assistance systems, awarded by the independent authority for vehicle safety Euro NCAP

An award given thanks to technologies that include: automatic emergency braking when approaching vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, lane keeping technology, traffic sign recognition and occupant monitoring systems.

With this recognition, therefore, Ford reveals itself as the industry leader, with the only two vehicles in the 2-ton segment awarded the Euro NCAP recognition for driving assistance; in this regard, it should be remembered that, in December 2020, the same award was awarded to the diesel version of the Transit.

“Euro NCAP is synonymous with vehicle safety: the independent organization extending its Gold Award to E-Transit testifies to Ford’s commitment to customer safety across the range of commercial vehicles”, ha detto Stuart Southgate, director, Safety Engineering, Ford of Europe. “E-Transit’s advanced driver assistance systems help take care of drivers and other road users and support customers looking to maximize uptime while limiting insurance and repair costs.”

The “simulated” tests of Euro NCAPm, going into the details of what happens to award the prize, tested: warning signs to the driver and safety technology active when approaching parked vehicles, traffic becomes slower, or when a vehicle in front of us brakes abruptly. The tests also covered situations in which a child runs on the road and cyclists and pedestrians walk or cross the road: scenarios potentially verifiable in the urban environment, an area in which E-Transit will be most present.

The E-Transit Gold Award extends Ford’s leadership in safety technology in the van. With the same recognition assigned to the Transit Custom, Ford is confirmed as the only manufacturer to boast in its range of vans awarded with the Gold Award from Euro NCAP, in the 1 tonne, 2 tonne and EV categories.

The company is already testing the E-Transits in daily use, throughout the Old Continent: deliveries are expected to start in the spring of 2022.
