News is also coming to Ford’s Transit range which will include four new electric models. To be precise, the brand new one-tonne Transit Custom van and Tourneo Custom utility vehicle planned for 2023. To these are added the smaller next-generation Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier utility vehicle to be launched in 2024.

To support the electrification plans of the new vehicles, Ford, SK on Co., e Koc Holding signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a new joint venture.

Subject to the execution of a final agreement, the three partners plan to create one of the largest electric vehicle battery plants in the European region. The joint venture it will be located near Ankara and the factory will produce high nickel content NMC cells to assemble into battery array modules. Production should start as early as mid-decade with an annual capacity that should be between 30 and 45 Gigawatt hours.
