Gamescom 2022: confirmed the absence of Sony

Archived the Summer Game Fest and the event dedicated to Xbox and Bethesda Games, the eyes of the fans are all focused on next event on the world of video games, to be held between 24 and 28 August in the German town of Cologne. To dampen the enthusiasm, however, we must note several absences that we will certainly notice at the next Gamescom 2022 including that of Sony.

Sony has therefore confirmed the absence of PlayStation at Gamescom 2022 which will be staged in Cologne. To the great chagrin of the fans of the Japanese company who would have certainly wanted to see some important announcements from Sony in the next event. Maybe they could be some consolation rumorswhich see Sony working on an upcoming and important one State of Play where the release date of God of War: Ragnarok, as well as some news on contoller, new viewers and displays.

But Sony will not be the only big absentee of the event, other important companies will miss the next Gamescom such as Nintendo, Activision Blizzard and Take-Two Interactive while it would seem that Xbox will take part in it. In addition to them, the organizers of the event have stated that they will be attending the show as well 250 companiesamong which we can annotate Bandai Namco, THQ Nordic e  Koch Media. And after two years of Gamescom only in streaming, this year the event it will also come back in presence, thus having the opportunity to be followed both live and virtual.
