GIGABYTE X670E and X670 AORUS motherboards introduced

Today the company unveiled its detailed GIGABYTE X670E and X670 AORUS motherboards

GIGABYTE (click here for more details on the company) is Taiwan-based manufacturer of computer hardware products, best known for its motherboards. Today it showed its next range of motherboards Socket AM5 base su chipset AMD X670E e X670 for desktop processors Ryzen series 7000 “Zen 4”. The launch of which is scheduled for September. We all know the importance that AMD places on connectivity PCI-Express Gen 5. So beyond the PEG slot, the X670E chipset, with multiple M.2 Gen 5 slots, covers the top end of the GIGABYTE AORUS series of motherboards. With, of course, the X670E AORUS Xtreme and X670E AORUS Maestro. The lower end of the range is based on the X670, with the AORUS Pro and AORUS Elite tiers.

Details of the new GIGABYTE X670E and X670 AORUS motherboard series

Both theX670E that theX670 offer at least one PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot (which can be further split into two x8 Gen 5 slots). And at least one PCI-Express 5.0 x4 M.2 NVMe slot connected to the AM5 processor. The X670E differs in having an additional M.2 Gen 5 slot that is hard-wired to the SoC, in addition to PCIe Gen 5 connectivity downstream from the chipset. L’AORUS Xtreme leads the group with a monstrous 18-stage VRM which uses 105 A DrMOS, an 8-layer PCB, four M.2 Gen 5 slots. The highest quality integrated audio with ESS DAC headphones, AQuantia 10 GbE, WiFi 6E and a host of overclocker compatible features.

Technical features

L’X670E AORUS Master is the second best of the GIGABYTE stable, with a 16-phase VRM which uses the same 105A DrMOS as the AORUS Xtreme. It has two M.2 Gen 5 slots instead of four on the AORUS Xtreme. 2.5 GbE instead of 10 GbE and an integrated audio solution based exclusively on Realtek ALC1220. Step back from here and get theX670 AORUS Pro AXwith his 6-layer PCBand 16-phase VRM using 90A DrMOS. It has a single M.2 Gen 5 slot wired to the SoC, 2.5GbE and WiFi 6E. An integrated audio based on ALC897. The cheapest card of the lot is theX670 AORUS Elite AXwith its 16-phase VRM using 70 A power stages. A load of expansion slots similar to the AORUS Pro AX and, interestingly, a WiFi 6E solution made by AMD-MediaTek (the others in the series use a Intel AX210).
