Golden Joystick Awards: Two new award categories announced

The Golden Joystick Awards 2021 will introduce two new categories of prizes particularly requested by the entire gaming community

To celebrate 50 years of videogame history, i Golden Joystick Awards are introducing two new categories of awards for this year’s show. The Golden Joystick Awards are about to flesh out their award park to celebrate 50 years of video games: Best Gaming Hardware of All Time e Ultimate Game of All Time. Golden Joystick Awards: Hardware of All Time and Ultimate Game of All Time are the new award categories available

The votes for the two categories Hardware of All Time and Ultimate Game of All Time (i.e. the new categories of awards of the Golden Joystick Awards) are now open. As you can easily guess from the names, the first of the two categories was created to celebrate the best console or videogame hardware component of all time, while in the second, very “simply”, video games considered as real will compete milestones of history of this young medium.

The content director Daniel Dawkins said the following about the upcoming awards:

We brought together a diverse group of industry luminaries to create a shortlist of 20 games, considering factors such as critical reception, social impact, commercial success, legacy and influence, as well as a measure of personal preference. We hope our shortlist represents the diversity and success of our industry for 50 years, which – by definition – has been forced to leave out some really great games. You can find out more about the evaluation process on GamesRadar and we can’t wait to find out which games and hardware the public will vote for as winners.

We remind you that the Golden Joystick Awards will be held on 23 november.
