Google bought a building in New York for 2.1 billion

An uncommon move in times of smart working. Google is the largest acquisition in the United States since the pandemic.

Google tip your New York?

According to ANSA, the Mountain View company bought an office building in the middle of New York. The acquisition, which cost an incredible amount of 2.1 billion dollars, could be the signal of a resumption of work at the headquarters to the detriment of smart working. According to the Wall Street Journal, this is the highest acquisition price in the US since the beginning of the pandemic for office buildings.

The building, which directly overlooks the iconic Hudson River, could therefore soon be repopulated by staff. Google had, in recent weeks, postponed the return to the office due to the spread of the Delta variant. Currently the return, as reported by ANSA, is scheduled for January 10, 2022.
