After being beaten in time by Bing Chat, the GPT4-based chatbot implemented in Microsoft’s search engine, Google is preparing to launch its own AI for searches. This was announced by the CEO Sundar Pichai in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
The news is absolutely not surprising, indeed, one wonders why Google has taken so long Microsofton the strength of its investments on OpenAi (owner of the GPT models) has already launched its chatbot a few months ago, recovering a very important market share.
It doesn’t help that Pichai has been very vague about the Google chatbot, not revealing a release date or generic time frame. In the meantime, especially after the closure of ChatGPT in Italy, Bing Chat continues to grind users, providing free searches through an extremely advanced and reliable chatbot.
Recall that Google has actually already launched its own chatbot called Bard. However, the service, available only in a few countries and currently in a test phase, is accessible only on a separate site and not on the search engine.
