google stadia
After a less than optimal launch, Google Stadia introduces several new features such as free demos and offers to attract developers and players.
Google’s cloud gaming service Stadia was received coldly upon launch. Expectations certainly not met for the giant, which after having downsized the project now seems to want to focus its efforts on improving the platform. According to what reported by The Verge, the company is in fact introducing some innovations in the hope of winning the hearts of users and, above all, of developers. The key word for the renewal of the service seems to be “free”. It is no coincidence that among the upcoming news there will be free demos and offers, both for players and developers.
The idea therefore seems to be to make the platform more usable, without further steps that could discourage users. In fact, we think about advertisements, for example those on YouTube and Google. Players will then be able to click on an ad and immediately try the demo of a videogame title, without necessarily having to register / log in or buy the game. Developer tools like DXVKwhich allows you to automatically code the DirectX APIs, without the development teams having to deal with the renderings.
In short, to sum up, Stadia would become a huge portal on which developers can allow players to try their titles for free (and easily). Users, on the other hand, will be able to access the demos by bypassing the login process and in free mode. It will then be up to them to decide whether to buy the full title or not. Could this be the future of video streaming? To gamers the arduous sentence.
