Here’s how long the first episode of The Last of Us TV series will last

There is great expectation for the release of the TV series of The Last of Us, a television transposition of the famous videogame franchise developed by Naughty Dog per console PlayStation. The debut of the first episode will officially take place on January 16, 2023. It will be broadcast in Italy su Sky e in streaming su NOW.

Among the news announced today by HBO, which produced the series, is the official duration of the first episode. This it will last 85 minutesdefinitely above the average cut of 60 minutes for series of this type.

What we know about The Last of Us TV series

The story of the TV series will retrace the events of the two video games. The Last Of Us takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joel (interpreted by Peter Pascal) is a cunning survivor who is tasked to get out Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, from a strictly monitored quarantine area. A seemingly easy task, but which soon turns into a brutal journey e heartbreaking. The two will have to cross the United States together and depend on each other for survival.

The series is written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) e Neil Druckman (the video game The Last Of Us) who are also its executive producers. The Last Of Us is a Sony Pictures Television co-production with Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Rose Lam serving as executive producers. The series is produced by PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog.

At the end of September, HBO had released the first teaser of the new series. A video that in less than two minutes shows us Joel and Ellie grappling with the atrocities of a world invaded by a mysterious parasite. With a fast-paced montage and a country song playing in the background, the video revealed just one line from the series: “Save who you can save”i.e. “Save who you can”.

In the meantime, Sony also released the remake of The Last of Us: Volume 1 in September. The game has thus also officially landed on PlayStation 5. In our review we read:
