Hogwarts Legacy finally has an official release date

Portkey Games recently announced the official release date from Hogwarts Legacythe long-awaited RPG inspired by the world of Harry Potter. As revealed, the title will debut on February 10, 2023 and this news could, unfortunately, disappoint the fans. Let’s find out all the details together.

Hogwarts Legacy release date: February 2023

The new date announced, published through a post on Twitter, makes us understand that Hogwarts Legacy has been postponed for several weeks; While we have never been given a concrete release date, the original plan was for the title to debut for the 2022 holidays.

The delay affects the PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions. The launch date of the Nintendo Switch version “will be revealed soon,” promises the official Twitter account of Hogwarts Legacy. The tweet also reads: “The team is thrilled to let you play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible gaming experience.”

Although we have seen some trailers in gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy, there haven’t been any real ones yet previews o broader views of the game. However, we have seen the exclusive functions offered by the PlayStation 5 and the character customization; we also had the opportunity to check out the villains of the story. So, all in all, we are satisfied.

Regarding the title, it is important to keep in mind that the author of Harry PotterJK Rowling, who in recent years has stood out for her transphobic comments, did not collaborate in the creation of the game. Warner Bros. has indeed stated that the author is not directly involved in the game, but the leadership has stated that she “has the right to express her personal opinion of her”. Since then, it has been reported that the game will allow the creation of transgender characters.
