Honor has unveiled the results achieved for the protection of the planet

HONORa global technology brand, on the occasion of the World Environment Day on June 5, announced the important results achieved by the brand for safeguarding our planet. Let’s find out more details about it together.

HONOR and the protection of the planet

It starts with the packaging! In fact, for the brand new HONOR Magic Series and the new wearable HONOR Watch GS3, they have been used FSC certified packing boxes. This choice has preserved a forest area of ​​about 122 hectares in one year. And then again, the compartment inside the packages of the HONOR Magic series is made with bagasse of sugar cane instead of with plastic. This choice reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 32 tons.

Finally, HONOR also has replaced plastic with paper for the protective film of chargers and data cables, further reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 35 tons.

Reduction of electronic waste

As of 2021, there are 1,733 tons i electronic waste collected by HONOR has collected and treated approximately 1,733 tons of electronic waste through its own channels. HONOR has also adopted halogen-free power cables for all of its smartphones and tablets. This choice has allowed a reduction in the use of approximately 3,379 tons of hazardous materials since 2016.

Reduction of emissions

Since 2021, HONOR has stopped using medium boxes in the delivery process. In doing so, it reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 208 tons in total. The brand also saved around 74 tons of paper for the laptop and wearable sector.

And then again, for printing thesoy ink, which reduces dependence on petroleum resources and facilitates the recycling of packaging materials. This step reduced carbon dioxide emissions by around 80 tons.
