The sleepythe base of operations for Fire Emblem Engage, contains a good handful of activities that are unlocked as the chapters go by. Fishing is one of them, but this minigame is one of the first to appear.
When you complete chapter 8 you will be able to access fishing in the Somniel which will be in charge of Prince Diamant. He will give you the lowest quality rod and you will be ready to start fishing.
The minigame works very simply. You should cast the hook into the pond at points where you see small ripples. Once you do this, the fish will start to bite. You must press A at the moment in which the hook sinks completely into the water.
Now it will look like an image of the silhouette of the fish moving from one side to the other. You have to pull the fish in the opposite direction that it is going until you get it to an area where it tires. There you have to press A repeatedly until the life is lowered to the maximum.
There is an immense amount of fish to get and with them you will get important Lasso Fragments and useful ingredients to be able to cook. The bigger the fish, the more rewards you will get and for this you must get two better rods.
These can be buy at the Timerra flea market in El Somniel, but not immediately, they will have to pass a few more chapters before they can get the best rod. Now you know how to cast the line.
