Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is a double remake of the two Game Boy Advance strategy games, released in 2001 and 2003, reimagined for the Nintendo Switch.
Throughout its two campaigns there are dozens of levels, and many more unlockable maps in the battle room mode.
You’ll have Advance Wars for a while, especially if you want to get S rank on all maps, which is achieved by being very careful and excelling in three aspects, which the game doesn’t tell you explicitly, but which we explain here.
How to get S rank in Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp
At the end of each mission, the game will evaluate us in three sections: Speed, Power and Technique. It will score you from 1 to 100 in each section, until giving you a final score whose maximum is 300.
But what does each section mean? While it’s easy to imagine, the game doesn’t explain it to you, and there are things to consider:
- Speed: The number of days (turns) it took you to complete the mission. It is impossible to know what is the amount required for each level to obtain a 100, since it depends on each mission, and it is information that the game hides.
- Can: The number of units you destroy. In some missions, it will tell you the number of units you destroy each turn, and except for battles where your units start very far from the rival’s, or you have to create them little by little, it will always ask you to defeat at least 10% of opponent’s units each turn.
- technique: The number of units you lose. According to estimates, you will not get a perfect score if you lose more than 20% units in the mission.
Fortunately, S rank does not mean getting a perfect score on all of them. We have found that if you get a score of 280, you will still get the maximum rank.
