As if Modern Warfare 2 weren’t enough, Activision Blizzard offers us a new war to wage on PlayStation, Xbox and PC… with the incentive of being an improved Battle Royale and, of course, the F2P (free) format as the flag in Call of Duty Warzone 2.
Following the success of Call of Duty Warzone in 2020, comes a new version exclusive to next-gen consoles and PC, adding a new map and features as demanded as DMZ (Open World Extraction).
Beyond these visual and playable changes, Warzone 2 introduces a totally new mechanic in the saga. Did you know that you can now change sides in the middle of the game?
It is part of the many possibilities that it throws the Assimilation function, which turns Call of Duty Warzone 2 matches into dynamic and tremendously fun experiences. We explain how it works.
Switching sides has never been so easy
For the first time in the Call of Duty saga, now players they can join other squads in the middle of the game or invite players to our team. This makes the experience more dynamic than before in Call of Duty Warzone 2.
In other words, with the Assimilation function we can change sides in the middle of the game, something that makes a lot of sense in the case of a Battle Royale 2.0.
Sure, you should keep in mind that the Assimilation function cannot be used on limited groups of players. For example, if you’re playing Duos, you can’t join a party or invite another player (unless one of the two players is alone).
Assimilation is a real joy in Warzone 2 Battle Royale, as it dynamically generates squads and tests the loyalty of each player.
You can expand your squad up to a maximum of six members, and in the same way you can join other squads that have a free slot. Yes, you can drop your friends to join the winning side.
The Takeover feature is really easy to use, and is available on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as well as PC. We explain how it works:
- When you are near another player, open the Ping submenu by clicking on the corresponding tab.
- You will see two options: with Join you can change squad, and with Invite you can expand your squad with other players.
- Choose the option you prefer. Of course, the quality of the connection of the users will be taken into account.
- If an enemy soldier sends you a request, tap accept or decline depending on what you prefer.
- Similarly, you can approach any player and propose to join your team. This may accept the request or reject it.
That is everything you need to know about the Assimilation feature in Call of Duty Warzone 2. Remember that your connection must be up to the level of the rest of the players, and that it is a limited feature depending on the circumstances (Duos, Trios…).
