How to participate in the Diablo 4 beta: date, requirements and everything you need to know

One of the most anticipated games this year is Diablo 4, the new installment in the Activision Blizzard RPG saga. Despite the acquisition of the company by Microsoft, the title will be multiplatform (it will also come out on PS5 and PS4 consoles).

Diablo IV has several tasks ahead of it, and one of them is to rectify the lukewarm start Diablo III had at launch. There will be in-game purchases, but it will not be a pay to win.

While the development of Diablo 4 advances (it will be launched on June 2), Activision Blizzard has already announced the dates of the celebration of the beta of the title. And there will not be a single session, but two.

Don’t know how to participate in the Diablo 4 beta? Relax, because in this guide we explain how to access the play test, the dates on which it will be held and other details about the Activision Blizzard RPG.

Diablo IV Beta: how to access and when it takes place

Diablo 4 is one of the most ambitious AAA of this 2023, which will be available in its final version on June 2 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC. It will also join Xbox Game Pass, in principle.

Before launch, Activision Blizzard will hold a Diablo 4 beta for all players to test the title on different platforms.

It is the same beta, but the company has confirmed two very different sessions. The first will be exclusive to those who pre-order the gamewhile the second will be available to everyone.

For a start, the weekend of March 17 to 19 is the early access of the beta Diablo IV. It is exclusive to players who pre-order any of the Diablo 4 editions.

On the other hand, there is the open beta for everyone, which It is celebrated the weekend of March 24 to 26. In other words, there are actually two ways to access the Diablo 4 beta before launch.

It was previously possible to sign up for the beta through the Blizzard website, but this option is now disabled.

How to access the beta of the game

The first method is simple: if you want to play early access from March 17 to 19 (one week before the open beta for everyone), you will have to reservar Diablo 4 en PC, PlayStation o Xbox.

There are three editions of Diablo IV: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate. In addition, there is an additional one, also known as a collector’s edition, which costs 109.66 euros and surprisingly enough, does NOT include the game.

By reserving any of these three editions, you will receive an email from Activision Blizzard with a code. You must redeem this code at this link, and follow the instructions shown on the screen (there are differences between the PC version and the console version).

Plus, pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition gets you additional content for Diablo IV and its predecessor, not to mention up to four days early access for the final version.

What about the second option? That is, to access open beta for all playerswhich will be available the weekend of March 24-26.

To access this open beta you do not need anything, just download the Diablo IV beta client through the PS Store, Microsoft Store, Steam or the Activision Blizzard website when that date arrives.

Now, what are the limitations of the Diablo IV beta? Blizzard has confirmed that will include the prologue and act 1 of the gameto face the hordes of Lilith months before launch.

Of course, in the beta there will be a level cap (only up to level 25) and some functions that will be in the final version are also cut.

Diablo IV is one of the most anticipated games of the year 2023, landing in stores next June 2nd. Remember that the open beta launches on March 24, while the previous weekend (early access) is exclusive to those who pre-order the game.
