How to recover lost items aboard Uber

On board Uber, lost and found items are the order of the day, even if some of them are decidedly unusual. Taking a look at Uber’s stats it’s interesting (and sometimes even hilarious) to find that users just forget about everything. Musical instruments, urns with pet ashes and bizarre pizza-shaped costumes these are just some of the unusual items left on board the brand’s vehicles.

In Italy, on the other hand, the trend is decidedly more “common”. Italians mostly forget their cell phones and, you just don’t understand why, almost always on Saturdays. They follow in the ranking – which takes into account the last 12 months – wallet, clothes, glasses, bags, keys, earphones and personal documents. The statistic becomes even more interesting if we note that on Tuesdays there is a peak of loss of earphones, while on Wednesday there is a peak of loss of headphones. On Monday and Friday, on the other hand, we tend to lose our glasses and on Sundays our house keys. The most forgetful countries are Argentina, Brazil and Croatia.

To help the most distracted users, Uber has created a real video tutorial to recover the objects left in their vehicles. If the lost item is the telephone, and you are therefore unable to call the driver, the solution is to use a computer. Here’s what to do:

Click on “Your trips” and select the trip in which you forgot something.

Scroll down and click on “Find Lost Item”.

Click on “Contact the driver for a lost item”.

Scroll down and enter the phone number you want to be contacted at. Click Submit.

If you have lost your phone, enter another person’s number (you can do this by logging into your account on a computer or using another phone).

The phone will ring and contact the driver’s mobile number directly.

If the driver replies and confirms that the item has been found, agree on a convenient time and place to meet and return the item to you.

If the driver does not respond, please leave a detailed voice message describing the item and the best way to contact you.
