How to Skip Battle Animations in Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp

The childish cartoon look of Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp It can be tricky, but make no mistake: this is a difficult game, with battles that can be extended during hours.

Graphically, the game is very simple, and it’s in the combat animations where it shines the most. But once you’ve seen them many times, they’ll soon become repetitive, and you’ll want to speed up the fights as much as possible.

Fortunately, it is possible to skip the battle and capture animations of Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp. Well, almost all of them, because the most annoying animations can’t be skipped… for now?

How to Skip Battle Animations in Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp

The option to skip animations is in the Options menu, which you access by pressing +. There you will find the Animations option, with three settings: A, B and C.

The option A it is the default one, and it shows all combat and capture animations. The option B it hides all the capture and battle animations, ie the fighting and also the little animation of the infantry “stomping” the cities and bases to capture them.

Our favorite is the option C: only shows the capture and battle animations of our units. This speeds up time, but at least gives you the satisfaction of watching the battle unfold.

Remember three things:

  • if you keep pressed Ryou will be able to speed up the speed of these animations and all the opponent’s movements.
  • If you decide to hide the opponent’s animations, you will have to be especially watch out for health numbers after battles
  • On the other hand, if you hover over a city or base that your opponent is capturing, you will be able to see how many capture points you have. Keep that in mind to find out which cities are about to fall!

Can the animations of the OJ powers be skipped?

Unfortunately, the animations for the OJ powers, the longest and most tiring in the game, cannot be skipped or sped up. It doesn’t matter if you press Start or R, the small animations of the OJ powers and super powers, both yours and the opponent’s, cannot be skipped.

Let’s hope they allow them to be skipped in an update, because they get pretty heavy!
