HUAWEI MateView: the Red Dot Design Award 2021 arrives

HUAWEI MateView has established itself in the in-house design category of the Red Dot Design Awards 2021 thanks to the combination of striking aesthetics with a complete set of features

Huawei, a leading technology company, announces that its first standalone monitor, HUAWEI MateView, received the prestigious Red Dot Award. The Red Dot jury, made up of approximately 50 leading product design experts, presented the award to HUAWEI MateView for combining “Aesthetics of Effect with a Complete Set of Features”.

HUAWEI MateView: the design award arrives

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the symbols more authoritative than the excellence of industrial design since its inception in 1955. The awards celebrate the best new designs in the world, divided into 49 categories, recognizing outstanding designs for their degree of innovation, functionality, quality and many other factors. This recognition by Red Dot is a testament to Huawei’s continued consistency in creating flagship products, not only characterized by a unique design but also by precision and high-quality engineering. This award recognizes Huawei with an extraordinary debut in the monitor industry.

The features

Launched globally in early June alongside the HUAWEI MateView GT gaming monitor, the HUAWEI MateView is a stand alone display equipped with a 28.2 inch 3: 2 panel with a native resolution of 3840 × 2560. The monitor supports the 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 100% of the sRGB color gamut. With color accuracy ratings of ΔE

The screen is supported by a uniquely designed stand, the industry’s first integrated height-adjustable arm that, according to the Red Dot jury, “harmoniously integrates the speaker and interfaces”. The design allows for a thinner screen and minimal bezel line, creating a 94% screen-to-body ratio for more immersive viewing. In addition, the stainless steel hinge that connects the panel to the stand allows users to effortlessly reposition the screen to an optimal degree of height and tilt it with just one finger.

The monitor boasts other unique design elements, including the intuitive design HUAWEI Smart Bar and gesture recognition, giving users a new and intuitive way to interact with the On Screen Display (OSD) menu to adjust display settings or speaker volume. Furthermore, the monitor supports both wired and wireless connectivity, which means that users can easily connect their laptops, tablets or smartphones to the HUAWEI MateView and take advantage of the extra screen space for better productivity. These revolutionary design features not only reflect Huawei’s continued expertise in product design, but also indicate a decisive first step in the monitor industry, disrupting the market with new forms of user interaction and unparalleled design.

The monitor can already be purchased in advance on the official website. That’s all from the hardware section, keep following us!
