Impera: here is the lamp that inactivates bacteria, viruses and SARS-CoV-2

The result of Ugolini Electronic Engineering’s research and development work, it is an innovative lighting system that inactivates SARS-CoV-2 and reduces the microbial load by over 99%

Ugolini Electronic Engineering, which for over twenty years has been studying and producing innovative solutions for lighting, well-being and safety of people and the environment, has developed a new nearUVA LED technology, that is to blue visible light close to ultraviolet (wavelength 405 nm) whose capacity of reduce the microbial load by more than 99% and inactivate the SARS-CoV-2 virus by 99.9% has been certified by the University of Siena with studies, laboratory tests and field tests.

The first fruit of this technology is the new Impera system, an innovative range of patented LED lamps, which in addition to offering pleasant lighting suitable for any type of environment, is also capable of inactivating viruses and bacteria present in the air as well as on surfaces and is therefore also ideal for rooms with difficulty in ventilation, making every environment more disinfected and safe. The nearUVA light source is totally harmless to people and animals and programmable in intensity to ensure optimal visual comfort. The system has an algorithm that during the night allows programming with only the nearUVA component, at maximum power, to have safer environments in the morning.

Two technologically advanced components

The innovative Impera system uses two components that work synergistically to offer a complete and versatile product. The white component deals with the conventional lighting of spaces, is available in neutral or warm color temperature depending on the environments and lighting projects and guarantees maximum luminous efficiency thanks to the use of Latest generation LED. The nearUVA Surface component deals with the microbiological disinfectant action of the irradiated surfaces. This range of light contrasts microbial and viral life (such as SARS-CoV-2) by altering the membrane and establishing oxidative processes that progressively inactivate microorganisms and slow down their proliferation. This light emission does not produce secondary oxidative components such as ozone. Laboratory tests have verified the ability of Impera lamps to reduce the microbial component present in everyday life environments by over 99%, even beyond 2.5 meters from the source, with an exhibition of the surfaces greater than 8 hours.
