Intel announced a series of important investments to increase the sustainability of corporate datacenters more and more. The company aims to invest over $ 700 million in a new advanced research and development laboratory and, at the same time, unveiled the first immersion liquid cooling solution, leaving intellectual property open.
Intel prepares to invest over 700 million dollars for the construction of a new research and development workers that will cover an area of 19 thousand square meters. Construction of the lab will begin this year at the Jones Farm campus in Oregon. It is scheduled to open in late 2023. The lab will be responsible for certifying, testing and designing Intel’s datacenter products.
It should also be noted that the company also presented the first immersion liquid cooling solution with open intellectual property and data center reference design of the sector. It is a totally accessible cooling solution. Initially, the initial project will be completed with Intel Taiwan.
Intel’s goal is to standardize data center cooling technologies (which account for 1% of global electricity demand) and invest in research and development to support future innovations. With this new investment, Intel confirms its commitment to reduce emissions.
