Jaguar Classic presenta due C-type Continuation “70-Edition”

Jaguar Classic presents two exclusives C-type Continuationcelebrating the victory of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1953: here are the new ones “70-Edition”. Two cars that celebrate the brand’s historic feat seventy years ago, which will be built at the Classic Works division plant in Coventry.

Jaguar Classic C-type Continuation “70-Edition”

In the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1953, 4 Jaguars were entered, which finished the race at primo, according to, quarto e nono place. A resounding success, with the winning pair of riders (Tony Rolt e Duncan Hamilton) which traveled over 2,500 miles (more than 4,000 km) at an average speed of 105.85 miles per hour (over 240 km / h). Thus it was that the C-type became the first car to win the historic competition with an average speed above 100mph.

To celebrate that smash hit, the C-type Continuation “70-Edition” they have evocative finishes, with hand-crafted silver enamel badges, “70-Edition” stitching and embroidery. In addition, they carry the race number 70.

The first has a coloring Verbier Silver and leather interior Cranberry Red, which draws inspiration from the C-type Platinum Anniversary. The second car “70-Edition” is based on the car of Rolt and Hamilton of 1953, the C-type XKC051, with the colors British Racing Green del Works Team and with Suede Green leather interior. The “70-Edition” logo was created by the Jaguar designer Malcolm Sayerwhich drew shapes of the D-type and E-type.

In addition, the key housing and the plaque on the dashboard made them the jewelry Deakin & Francis which boasts over 230 years of activity. The plaque uses the fuel tank material of a 1953 C-type.

Historic power

Handmade with over 3,000 hours of work, underneath the aluminum body you find a 3.4-liter engine with straight six. There are triple carburettors Weber 40DCO3, capable of 220CV. You can then race through FIA competitions, including the Jaguar Classic Challenge.
