The missing link (keychain) ring in the Kingdom Hearts saga is literally “Missing Link”, and will be for smart devices
At the expense of a title capable of making us think of a crossover with The Legend of Zelda (which technically already exists), in reality Kingdom Hearts Missing Link it is something else. The game, overshadowed by a surprisingly early announcement for the fourth main chapter of the saga, is already aiming for an evolution from action RPG over its predecessor Union X Dark Road. In fact, the trailer shows its nature as an interquel placed halfway between the “era of fairy tales” of the past and the events of Birth By Sleep, focusing on one of the worlds still shrouded in mystery. Beyond the appearance of Ephemer in a “war memorial”, Kingdom Hearts Missing Link reinterprets the various medallions of the predecessor and replaces them with statuettes. Each of them, again according to what the trailer has given us to understand, in fact corresponds to a different attack that can be equipped. The ambition of the new project also includes more elaborate settings than in the past, such as the Kingdom of Corona from the third episode of the series. Square-Enix has already promised a “new and original storyline”, pitting players against the Heartless in exciting new battles.
We were not joking in our talk of ambition. Before even revealing a window period for the actual release, the game has only unraveled on the year scheduled for the closed beta. Specifically, it is this year, the 2022. For the rest, beyond the possibility of impersonating an undefined customizable avatar again, we have no other data to report. Everything will be usable both with the screen in portrait mode and in the good old landscape.
