Kingston NV1: presented the new entry-level SSD with capacities up to 2TB

Kingston has recently introduced the new NV1. This is an entry-level SSD that is great for upgrading a compatible Desktop PC or notebook

Kingston recently unveiled a new one SSD M.2 NVMe (PCIe 3.0 x4) entry-level, dal really affordable quality / price ratio. This is the NV1 model, ideal for updating older desktop PCs or notebooks compatible with the NVMe standard. As fundamental characteristics we find first of all the low thickness which allows its installation also in mini PC desktop or in low profile notebooks.

Technical specifications

NV1 will be available in three different denominations: 500 GB, 1TB e 2 TB with performances in reading which stand up to 2100 MB / s. In writing sequential, on the other hand, 1700 MB / s. The Taiwanese company also insures the product for three years with free technical support. The endurance of the hardware ranges from 120 TBW (TeraByte Written) of the 500 GB cut up to 480 TBW of the 2 TB model.

Ideal, therefore to expand the storage capacity of a laptop or office desktop. Certainly not a top of the range suitable for workstation O PC gaming, but a worthy heir capable of significantly increase performance compared to a mechanical hard drive or a standard SSD. According to analytics firm Forward Insights, among other things, in 2020 Kingston sent over twenty million SSDs worldwide. The company will aim at improve that record in the current year even if the challenge will be difficult in relation to the period of shortage of semiconductors we are going through.
