Lies of P: disturbing “Pinocchio soulslike” announced

Lies of P is the name of a curious encounter between the novel of the puppet par excellence, Pinocchio, and the soulslike genre

What arises when one of the most memorable works of Italian literature flows into videogames? This seems to be precisely the question that the studies have asked themselves (and to which they wanted to answer with facts) Neowiz e Round8 Studio. The aforementioned software houses have announced Lies of P, an action RPG soulslike based on the famous novel Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. Set in the ruined city of Krat, the title sees hostile automatons sowing terror. The protagonist Pinocchio embarks on his personal quest in search (it could not be otherwise) of his father, yes exactly, the carpenter Geppetto in an attempt to fix things. Lies of P: Soulslike-style Pinocchio shows up in the first dark gameplay trailer

Right below (by clicking on the player) you can take a look at the sinister and disturbing trailer for Lies of P, the soulslike inspired by Pinocchio. In addition to a gothic horror aesthetic and a decidedly not very reassuring appeal (not unlike Bloodborne by FromSoftware), Lies of P also features some very solid looking combat. There are a variety of weapons to use as an adult spade curve a stalks e clubs. Pinocchio, to make matters worse, also boasts a mechanical arm that uses various tools such as a grappling hook and a flamethrower. Reactivity-based counterattacks will also play their part as accurate timing will allow them to destroy hordes of angry automatons.

It is really impossible not to notice from the first moments of the game the references to the atmosphere of Bloodborne (even if in this title, the starting point in terms of setting seems to be a sort of Belle Epoque oscura and distorted). Lies of P is scheduled for release on 2023 per PS5, Xbox Series X/S e PC. He will receive more details at G-STAR 2021 which takes place from 17 to 21 November. As for the highly acclaimed FromSoftware title, on the other hand, rumors about a possible remake for PS5 or PC have been running for some time, more information about it here.
