LoL MSI 2022: the participation of Chinese teams at risk

In the past few hours, the news has begun to circulate on the net that the participation of the Chinese teams in the MSI 2022 of LoL would be at risk: let’s find out all the details together

With the closing of the Spring Split, swept away by the Korean boys of T1, the biggest event of the League of Legends stage of the year is approaching. The Mid-Season Invitational 2022, to be held in Korea, is approaching by leaps and bounds and all the major pro-players who will participate are now preparing, mentally and technically, for the clash. However, there is one nation that seriously risks not being able to participate: China. None other than one of the major powers in the “League of Legends” and who would find himself in danger of not being able to take part in MSI 2022 due to problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through an interview, the professional player Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang shed some light on the LPL situation at MSI 2022. In fact, the COVID-19 problem in Shanghai is reportedly so important as to jeopardize participation in the tournament.

The latest version I’ve heard is that [LPL] it should remotely play the MSI. Self [LPL] he cannot play remotely, he will not take part in the tournament.

COVID-19 pandemic practice puts Chinese teams’ participation in LoL’s MSI 2022 at risk

As explained by Doinb himself, the procedures related to COVID in Shanghai indicate that all people entering the city must be under observation for a total of 21 days, of which 14 were quarantined and 7 were for health surveillance. This means that if LPL players participated in MSI 2022 in South Korea, they would not be able to return in time to take part in the summer split, as they would be immediately quarantined as soon as they land. And it is obviously impossible to play with computers from the hotel.

Although the situation is therefore difficult for the Chinese teams and their participation in LoL’s MSI 2022 is put at great risk, we are still awaiting an official response from Riot Games. Meanwhile, we remind you that the Mid-Season Invitational 2022 will be held in the city of Busan starting May 10, with a total of 11 different regions that are expected to participate.
